Introduction
Karnali Foundation is non-profit making, non-governmental civil society organization established in 2006 committed to democracy, peace, human rights, social justice and equitable development. The foundation working in the area of policy making, advocacy for human rights, good governance, right to information campaign and women empowerment. This organization is founded by the young academic, energetic and dynamic personalities of different ground. The composition of the executive committee comprised from lawyers, journalists and development actors recognizing the concept of inclusion. The foundation has its eminent advisors of different field of academia, senior advocates, journalists, diplomats, planner and development expert.
In the current changing scenario of the country, the foundation further commits to make an accountable government and responsible citizen on the basis of democratic norms and values. The foundation believes on "No Development without Research". On the basis of this idea, aiming to study and research on various dimensions of the society such as rule of law, sustainable development, and demand of the society and functional aspect of service delivery system of government and public institutions. Foundation is dedicated to work on the participatory approach through the collaboration with stakeholders to foster Partnership between Government and Citizen. It also campaigns for open data, anti-corruption, transparency and accountability.

Mission
The mission of the foundation is to develop an integrated and sustainable development model suitable for nation. And manifested in its role as motivators, facilitator, lobbyist, advocate, and policy interventionist empowerment and mainstreaming local agent for the fulfillment of the fundamental rights of the citizen. It has collective initiative of policy researcher, advocates, and academicians committed to democracy, peace, human rights, social justice and equitable development of society.
